US Patent:
50041029, Apr 2, 1991
Filed:
Jul 30, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/559773
Inventors:
Lawrence J. Timmins - Riverview MI
Duane K. Krause - Grosse Pointe Woods MI
Assignee:
Chrysler Corporation - Highland Park MI
International Classification:
B65D 1900
US Classification:
206386

Vertical movement is prevented by use of lids on the shipping rack.

Parts Handling Apparatus

US Patent:
60128917, Jan 11, 2000
Filed:
Jun 26, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/105421
Inventors:
Lawrence J. Timmins - Riverview MI
Assignee:
Chrysler Corporation - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
B65G 6523
US Classification:
414421
Abstract:
Loose parts in a shipping container can be dumped onto a table at a work station using a pivotal carrier. With the carrier in an upstanding position, a loaded shipping container can be transported into the carrier by the use of a fork lift truck. A lid on the carrier can then be lowered onto the container to retain the loose parts in place while the carrier is being pivoted to a tilted position. The lid has a parts discharge opening and a slidable closure plate that can be moved between a closed position and various partially-opened positions, to control the number of parts discharged from the container onto the work station table at any one time.

Shipping Container

US Patent:
57434611, Apr 28, 1998
Filed:
Jan 27, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/791442
Inventors:
Lawrence J. Timmins - Riverview MI
Assignee:
Chrysler Corporation - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
B65D 542
US Classification:
22912539
Abstract:
A rectangular shipping container of corrugated cardboard in which the bottom is closed by first and second closure flaps hingedly connected to the lower edges of the side walls, and third and fourth closure flaps hingedly connected to the lower edges of the end walls. The first and second flaps are foldable inwardly to horizontal positions closing the bottom of the container in which their inner edges are closely spaced apart and define a channel. The third and fourth flaps are slotted and are foldable inwardly to horizontal positions in which they underlie the first and second flaps and their slots underlie the channel. A first retainer is slidable in the channel and in the slot in one of the slotted flaps, engaging the first and second flaps and the slotted flap to hold them in their horizontal positions. A second retainer is slidable in the channel and in the slot in the other slotted flap, engaging the first and second flaps and the other slotted flap to hold them in their horizontal positions. The retainers are slidable in the channel toward one another far enough to withdraw from the slots and then slidable out of the channel through either end thereof to release all of the flaps.

Shipping Rack For Vehicle Sliding Door Upper Trim Frames

US Patent:
54132169, May 9, 1995
Filed:
Sep 23, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/763857
Inventors:
Lawrence J. Timmins - Riverview MI
International Classification:
B65D 8568
B65D 8110
US Classification:
206335
Abstract:
A shipping rack is provided for storing and transporting vehicle sliding door upper trim frames which must be adequately supported to prevent movement thereof during shipment which movement could cause damage to finished surfaces. The vehicle sliding door upper trim frames include an elongated central portion having end portions extending therefrom. The shipping rack includes an elongated lower frame end portion receiver structure for receiving one of the frame end portions and an elongated upper frame end portion frame holder structure for holding the other end portion. This arrangement results in supporting vehicle sliding door upper trim frames without contact with each other and in such fashion as to prevent any substantial movement during shipment.
