Systems And Methods For Employing An Orthogonal Corpus For Document Indexing

US Patent:
7275061, Sep 25, 2007
Filed:
Apr 13, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/548796
Inventors:
Henry Kon - Lexington MA, US
George Burch - Boston MA, US
Assignee:
Indraweb.com, Inc. - Paoli PA
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
707102, 707101, 707103 R, 7071041
Abstract:
The invention provides for indexing and cataloging of content on the Internet, as well as from other stores of information, may be performed by applying a process that employs an orthogonal corpus, or corpora, of information, such as an Encyclopedia. To this end, the processes described herein identify the topics discussed within the corpus. The process also identifies within the corpus a set of keywords that are relevant to the topics presented in the corpus. The keywords associated with a topic may be employed to identify documents stored in another database that are related to the topic. A graphical representation of the index of topics found in the corpus may then be generated, with individual topics operating as links to these related documents. Thus, a user interested in reviewing content in the corpus related to a certain topic, may also activate a link in the graphical representation of the index to access other documents that have been identified as related to the topic of interest to the user.

Orthogonal Corpus Index For Ad Buying And Search Engine Optimization

US Patent:
8554775, Oct 8, 2013
Filed:
May 16, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/108569
Inventors:
Henry B. Kon - Lexington MA, US
George W. Burch - Princeville HI, US
Assignee:
SEMMX, Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
US Classification:
707748, 705 144
Abstract:
Systems and methods for applications of orthogonal corpus indexing (OCI), such as selecting ad words for purchase and improving visibility of web pages in search engines, are described. In one aspect, the systems and methods described herein employ OCI to recommend to an advertiser ad words for purchase. Advertisers pay search engines for placement of their advertising along side results in the search results page, when a given word or phrase appears in a user's search query. The described systems and methods enable automated selection of related and discriminating terms, identifying keywords that increase the ratio of ads clicked-through to money spent on keyword buying. In another aspect, the systems and methods described herein employ OCI to generate content for web pages. OCI may be used to determine content that when added to a web page improves the rank of that page in a search engine.

Systems And Methods For Data Quality Management

US Patent:
58422021, Nov 24, 1998
Filed:
Nov 27, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/757759
Inventors:
Henry B. Kon - Somerville MA
Assignee:
Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Cambridge MA
International Classification:
G06F 1700
US Classification:
707 3
Abstract:
Systems and methods that model and measure the propagation of error within information systems. The invention provides data management systems that determine an error measure that represent the accuracy, or inaccuracy of a query result achieved for processing a structured data set. In one embodiment, the invention provides systems that have a model of error which exists within a structured data set. The system can further include an error propagation monitor that processes the error model and the structured data set to determine errors within the structured data set that will propagate to a query result generated by performing a query process on the structured data set. The propagated error represents the error that exists within the query result signal.

Calendaring Systems And Methods Using Generating Functions For Prioritized Reminders

US Patent:
20210049558, Feb 18, 2021
Filed:
Aug 14, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/993835
Inventors:
Henry Bruno Kon - Lexington MA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/10
Abstract:
Systems, methods and computer program products are introduced for generating prioritized reminders as a time series. Reminder initiation includes selection of an appropriate reminder delivery method. Exemplary embodiments include creating an event having an event time in the electronic calendar and assigning a reminder rate as a parameter to a time series generating processor. The generating function outputs a series of reminder times such that inter-reminder times continuously decrease and that the reminder series, in its initial form, is defined as unending. Additional exemplary embodiments include assignment of an importance to the event as a measure of the relative value or worth of the event to the calendar user. Time remaining to the event, alone or in combination with event importance, are used to determine reminder priority and thus delivery method or delivery mode, based on user configuration preferences for reminder volumes. Additional exemplary embodiments include a method for cancelling or rate-limiting the time series to prevent reminders from coming too frequently or coming beyond their point of being useful as the event time approaches.
