I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and attended university in London (Ontario) Canada, completing a double-major degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Organic Chemistry. I then sold my motorcycle, bought a plane ticket and moved to Japan. I spent 10 years living there, doing a variety of jobs, learning Japanese along the way. I then spent 10 years as an international flight attendant with a major U.S. carrier, based in Chicago and San Francisco, getting to know much of small-town and big-city America, in addition to the rest of the globe! I became a U.S. citizen in December 2006, making me a citizen of two of the greatest countries in the world! Of all the places in the world where I could live, I have chosen to make San Diego my permanent home.
