Abstract:
A swimming pool light assembly is provided. The light assembly includes a reflective plate having a plurality of perforations formed therethrough the reflective plate, and a plurality of LED bulbs. Each LED bulb protrudes through a respective perforation of the plurality of perforations, and a control circuit is selectively operable to produce a plurality of colored lights through the plurality of LED bulbs. The control circuit has a switch which when activated a defined number of times produces a plurality of at least light colors and light patterns. Each of the plurality of at least light colors and light patterns are selected based on the defined number of times the switch is activated.

Abstract:
An illuminating apparatus may include a housing and a lamp assembly to produce a beam of light transmitted to a fiber optic cable. An insulating device for insulating an input end of the fiber optic cable from beat may be disposed between the input end of the fiber optic cable and the lamp assembly. The insulating device may be a fused bundle of glass fiber that insulates the input end of the fiber optic cable. A method for retrofitting fiber optic light sources may include removing a fiber head from the light source and inserting a fiber optic glass to insulate the input end of a fiber optic cable from heat generated within the light source.

Abstract:
A submersible light fixture which includes a housing, and an LED light engine mounted to a heat-conducting plate, with the heat conducting plate being supported by the housing. The housing defines an opening adjacent to the heat-conducting plate, and the opening is designed to be in fluid communication with a body of water when the light fixture is submerged such that the water acts as a heat sink to the LED light engine. In one arrangement, the opening is a gap between the heat-conducting plate and a watertight container containing a control module for the LED light engine.

A fiber optic light source having an improved cooling scheme for preventing heat damage to the fiber optic cable input ends. The housing for the light source is divided into two sections, with a separate cooling air supply for each section. The first section is provided with a high volume cooling air flow for general area cooling of the lamp assembly, power supply and other exothermic components. The second section is provided with a high velocity cooling air flow directed at the fiber ends. The second cooling air flow is isolated from the heat generated by the lamp assembly and is provided to the fiber ends at essentially ambient temperature.
